I hadn't given it much thought before I started investigating...but even "happy and healthy" pet food is tested on animals! Over 70,000 beagles (and that's just beagles!) are used every year for consumer products testing. We experiment on animals, eat them, wear them, watch them, torture them and toss them aside like a plastic toy. keep reading... Animals really are working for us. Everyday, all over the world. That's kind of an unfair arrangement, don't ya think? So many animals are caged in a lab undergoing an experiment that won't even yield usable results. Even more are serving their sentence on a factory farm, a miserable life they didn't chose.
Since I saw that video, I have been motivated to somehow contribute to the end of such unnecessary suffering and overwhelming consumerism that drives society. I, like probably most people, felt completely helpless surrounded by everyone who looks the other way or "doesn't want to see that" - but they have no problem supporting it. How can such "normalcy" change? The answer is simple really. Stop buying. Stop buying factory farmed meat, fur and products with unethical ingredients. Stop supporting excess waste. Stop giving money to companies that use it to inflict suffering. Just stop. It's that easy! That's your *purchasing power* and it's a really powerful tool. What does this have to do with cruelty free skin care? Everything. Conscious spending crosses all boundaries, from what you wear, to what you eat, and what you buy for your home. It is a way to be part of the solution rather than contribute to the problem. In a world where cruelty abounds, alternative practices and products are needed and wanted. Providing these cruelty free products and promoting education has become the mission of many businesses in an effort to break the chain and spread awareness. We know that despite unconscious behavior, people want to do something good. To change the world in your own way, please visit any of the sites below...
