A good day off means some time outdoors, tasty foods, and moving that bod. I recently found this vintage beach cruiser on craigslist for commuting around town. There are plenty of places to shop + markets within a few miles, so a beach cruiser is perfect. It's not quite as easy as a bike with gears of course, but that makes for a darn good workout sometimes! Plus they are so easy to ride and such low maintenance. I love zipping around town getting fresh air, plus knowing that I'm saving money and emissions on gas. It almost makes errands more fun anyway, especially if I pretend like I'm a kid on my bike, running them for my parents. ;)
After a delicious breakfast atABC Bakery, I made a quick stop a Whole Spice at the Oxbow in Napa for a huge spice haul - I spent almost 50 bucks! Spices make such a huge difference in cooking the simplest of things though, so in the end they are worth the cost to me. Whole Spice has some spice blends that are pretty handy and delicious too, all at great prices and you can buy them buy the ounce. I set aside a bunch of our Fresh Mask jars to hold my new spices (btw, that's a great way to reuse your packaging!), and I can't wait to get cooking. I bought quite a few things that I haven't tried before, so look forward to sharing some of whatever ends up coming out of the kitchen. Spices of course are excellent for skin too and can be used in multiple ways to treat so many things! From acne to damage to skin tone, your spice pantry is a great tool for treating skin irritations. Search through the blog for a specific issue or ingredient, and if we haven't covered it before, be sure to leave your inquiry in the comments so I can check it out.
End of the night featured homemade fig newtons that taste ten times better than those things in the package. ;)
