It's moving day!
Moving day fuel from Butterscots at the Caridean Estate.
Whew! Moving from the old office to the new one was no easy task, but I am happy to say we are officially in! Such an exciting day to be getting a bigger production space with so much room - definitely not something we are used to. We'll be putting in shelving, work stations, a mailing station, and a new space for doing videos. Standing in the new production space got me thinking about how darn proud I am of what we have accomplished in such a short period of time. This all started from an idea brought on by a very difficult, personal struggle with a sleeping disorder that nearly ruined my skin. And here we are today- using real ingredients, putting food on our faces, recycling, and sharing information with others. I couldn't love it more! I had so many ideas and goals when I finally launched this business two years ago, especially concerning environmental, health, and animal welfare issues (animal testing is bad, mkay!). I so wanted to reduce plastics, force bad ingredients out, reduce water waste, reduce pollution, stop cruel practices, and teach people simple ways to care for themselves. It fills me with joy to see that we are really making progress with our mission and helping to be part of positive changes for our planet. Investing in your ideas can be risky/scary/unsettling, but if you aren't living to the fullest then what are you doing here...
All of this started with a goal of making natural skin care easy, affordable, and accessible to everyone, and we have never deviated from that focus. My first round of conditioning oil and coffee bean scrub samples (pictured above) went with me to work while I was still in the pastry kitchen, and now I find myself producing those same products in my own Simplecare production kitchen. Cooking and food has always been such a huge part of my life, and I am so darn happy that I am able to integrate something I love with changing the world for the better.
It's funny that even though I have left the kitchen - I really haven't. :)
