Coconut Oil Pulling

Oil Pulling
Have you tried oil pulling yet?
Oil pulling is an ancient practice of cleansing the mouth by swishing oils for, usually, anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes.
Coconut oil is a great choice for oily pulling since it has some antibacterial properties - plus it has a pretty good flavor! It also contains vitamins and nutrients that can be otherwise beneficial to the mouth. Coconut oil pulling has been said to help with dental hygiene as well as wide variety of things including whitening teeth, clearing skin, relieving hangovers/headaches, and even helping with digestive issue. Now, I won't go too far into the disputed health claims, but there is some science that supports potential benefits for coconut oil pulling. Oils naturally bind to things at a molecular level, so they can be a great surface natural cleaner, even for skin. It's a fairly simple process, so no need for a lengthy explanation.
Keeping your mouth clean can help reduce chances of dental issues like gingivitis, gum disease, and bad breath, so this is a great practice to use as a natural mouthwash. Do your coconut oil pulling for 4-5 times a week or in place of your regular mouthwash for anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes. You can add 1-2 drops of peppermint or eucalyptus (or other) essential oils to add a fresh taste and extra benefits. Use oil at room temp or warm gently to melt if you have a hard time working with the oil firm. Swish gently, no need to give yourself a mouth-ache! Rinse your mouth well afterwards for a complete clean.
