Rosemary chats! 🌿
Rosemary oil is beneficial in so many ways, from its antibacterial properties that can help fight acne-causing junk and surface debris that causes eczema irritation, to its ability to help with internal problems like chest congestion and anxiety. It's definitely a garden keeper, especially being a pretty hardy dude and an evergreen, so you get it all year long!
Rosemary oil has antioxidants to fight off free radicals that cause damage and aging to skin; it also has anti-inflammatory benefits for puffiness, it promotes skin elasticity, and can even help clarify/moisturize dry scalp with dandruff.
To make a gentle rosemary toner extracting that nutritious rosemary oil, steep 2 stalks of rosemary leaves in 8oz of clean water for 10 minutes (just like tea). Strain when cooled, and keep in the fridge to preserve for up to one month. To use, just give your skin a quick wipe and let the benefits soak in, or give your scalp and good rinse and massage.
You can also extract rosemary oil into a carrier oil like grape seed or safflower oil / just place your leaves and oil in an airtight jar, and leave in the sun to steep for up to 5 weeks, depending on your desired concentration.
Remember rosemary oil when checking out essential oils for your own home blends, but use caution if pregnant - rosemary and other essential oils can be potent and are not recommended for expecting mamas. 👍
p.s. throw some rosemary on your next batch of roasted nuts ;)
